U.S. Market Review

U.S. stocks opened higher for the fourth straight session today, amid mixed global economic data stimulated by forecasts of additional monetary stimulus from central banks, including the U.S. Federal Reserve.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 68.77 points, or 0.26%, at the open to 26,866.23. The S&P-500 added 9.72 points, or 0.33%, at 2,988.43.
The Nasdaq Composite added 27.84 points, or 0.34%, to 8,130.91 at the opening bell.
U.S. consumer sentiment soared last month as forecasts about falling mortgage rates offset reduced optimism about home price appreciation and the timing to buy and sell a home, reported by Fannie Mae.
Moreover, mortgage rates have sunk to their bottom since the autumn of 2016 in step with dropping U.S. bond yields because of anxiety about a softening global economy.
